Option 4) Stir Up Some Hot Chocolate Cocktails
Get yourself some hot chocolate mix and add a few distilled additions for a delicious night cap or round next to the campfire. Here's two we love:
1) Buttered Rum Hot Chocolate
Serves 4
- 3 cups milk or water
- ½ cup Chugach Sea Salt Hot Chocolate Mix
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter
- 4 ounces rum
- Ground nutmeg (optional garnish)
At Home Directions: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and gently heat and whisk until warm (if available, use of electric whisker or mixer encouraged). Pour into mugs.
Camping Directions (easiest): Put hot chocolate mix, butter, and rum into thermos. Partially fill thermos with hot water. Ensure cap is secure. Shake it like you mean it. Completely fill and shake gently. Open slowly. Enjoy!
2) Tequila Mint Hot Chocolate
Serves 4
- 3 cups milk or water
- ½ cup Chugach Sea Salt Hot Chocolate Mix
- 4 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce peppermint schnapps
- (optional) Whipped cream and mint leaf
At Home Directions: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and gently heat and whisk until warm (if available, use of electric whisker or mixer encouraged). Pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and mint leaf.
